The Remote Access Code prevents unauthorized users from adding projects to your project or SCADA node.
The Remote Access Code is established during installation of Project Node and SCADA Node software.
If someone can guess the IP Address of your SCADA node or Project Node, they could try to add projects or download projects to your SCADA node from another WebAccess Project without knowing your admin or project password. The Remote Access Code prevents another WebAccess project from downloading to your SCADA nodes.
It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to use a REMOTE ACCESS CODE during software installation.
The default Remote Access Code during SCADA node installation is no code (i.e. blank.)
If you have forgotten the Remote Access Code using during software installation on the SCADA node, you have two options:
option 1) Re-install the WebAccess software on the SCADA node to change it and edit your database to match the new code using UPDATE.
OR
Option 2) Edit the BWSERVER.INI file on the SCADA node and edit your database to match the new code using UPDATE.
Hint - if this is a combined SCADA and Project Node, you have to reinstall using the Project & SCADA software option and edit the remote access code in the database for both the project and SCADA node using UPDATE.
