7.2        Alarm Types

Analog-type Tag Alarms providing High-High, High, Low, Low-Low, Rate-of-Change and Deviation Alarms for each Analog point tag in the system including IO Tags, each parameter of a Block, Calculation Points, Accumulation Points, and Constant Point Tags.  For Detail Description of Analog Tag Properties see section 4.2.31 ALARM Properties - ANALOG TAGS.

Discrete Tag Alarms and Digital-type Tag Alarms on the true or false state of the tag. This is for IO  Tags, each parameter of a Block, Calculation Points, Accumulation Points, and Constant Point Tags. For Detail Description of Discrete Tag Properties see section 4.3.24 ALARM Properties - Discrete Tags.

Local Screen Tags do not alarm.  If you need an alarm for the result of a script of Graphic Display input, use a Constant Point Tag.

%DAQTags (i.e. System Tags) have local alarm indication only.  These tags do not appear in the Alarm Summary or Alarm Log.  If you need the alarms from these tags, you must use a script and a Constant Point Tag.
