Properties | To configure default regional settings
Proficy Portal ships with default regional settings for several languages. The settings include the type of font, paper size, number formats, date formats, and time formats that are specific to the language used. These settings are based on the most commonly used formats for each language. In addition to setting the language-specific defaults, preferences for these settings can be user-specific. The Edit User Preferences dialog box allows you to set the same options as the Default Regional Settings dialog box (with the exception of the language setting). The user-specific settings override the default regional settings.
If you need to change the locale/language of your machine, there are two options:
Access the Default Regional Settings dialog box in Proficy Portal and set the language. You can make changes to any other default settings on this dialog box as well. After saving these changes, access the Windows Control Panel\Regional Options and select the locale and language.
Or
Change the set locale and language in the Windows Control Panel\Regional Options before making the necessary changes on the Default Regional Settings dialog box. When you open the Default Regional Settings dialog box, the language will be set automatically according to the language set in the Regional Options control panel.
NOTE: On the Regional Options Windows control panel, there are settings similar to the ones in Proficy Portal. For example, the Regional Options control panel has settings for the number, time, and date formats. However, any settings on the Regional Options control panel (other than the locale and language) will not be recognized by the Java virtual machine, and therefore, the settings have no effect in Proficy Portal. You must instead use the Proficy Portal settings (either on the Default Regional Settings or Edit User Preferences dialog box) to change options such as number format, time format, font, and so forth.
