The following procedure applies to iHistorian, CIMPLICITY HMI Logger, and PI data sources. Differences on the Time tab for these data sources are noted.
Time criteria can be updated on the object and display as well as on the data source. See Time Management for more information.
Select a data source:
If you have entered an object from the Insert menu, select the data source from the Data Source Browser. How? Or, if you have added an object to a display using Natural Presentation (drag-and-drop), select the data source from the Configure New Object dialog box. How? On the Edit Source/Configure New Object dialog box, select the Time tab.
- or -
If you are reconfiguring an existing data source, double-click the data source you want to reconfigure in the object's Configuration panel. On the Edit Source dialog box, select the Time tab.
For objects that use a Quick Time control (e.g., Time charts, Historian grids), select either Use item time or Use component time. If you select Use item time, the data sources use the start time/time span as it is configured in the following steps. If you select Use component time, the data sources use the Quick Time criteria to determine the start time/time span (and you can skip the remaining steps in this procedure).
NOTE: If you are using the Natural Presentation method (drag and drop) to add an object to a display, or to add a data source to an object, you cannot select the Use Component time option.
To specify a Fixed Date and Fixed Time:
Select the Fixed Date check box and enter the date in the Date field (you can click the calendar button to enter the date).
Select the Fixed Time check box and enter the time in the Time field.
- or -
To specify a relative date and time (for example, 1 day and 3 hours before now):
Clear the Fixed Date check box and enter the number of days in the Days box.
Clear the Fixed Time check box and enter the number of hours, minutes, seconds, and/or milliseconds in the respective boxes.
TIP: You can enter a fixed date/relative time, or a relative date/fixed time if necessary. For example, you could enter a relative date of 1 day before now, and a fixed time of 3:00:00.000 PM.
To specify the time span (the amount of time from the start time that the data will be retrieved for), enter amounts of time in the Days, Hours, Minutes, Seconds, and/or Millisecs boxes.
