When you configure a Plant Database data source in an object, you will notice that some functions have parameters. You can configure default values for these parameters, so that when the object retrieves the data, the default value is passed in. In some cases you will be able to enter a value or select a check box directly on the source configuration dialog box. For most values, however, when you click in the value column for the parameter, a dialog box will appear. Click on the parameters below to find out about their configurable properties.
Parameters:
Property |
Description |
Absolute |
Allows you to define a fixed date and time for the time criteria. |
Relative |
Allows you to define a date and time that is relative to a certain day, month, week, shift, and so forth. |
Range NOTE: This choice is not available if entering 'Start Date/Time'. |
Allows you to define a date and time that is either relative or absolute, depending on your selection. The displayed Start and Stop date/time changes to reflect your selection. For example, if you select Last Hour, the Start date/time changes to one hour before the current time (relative option). If you select Q1, the Start and Stop date/time values change to the first 3 months of the year (absolute option). |
Data model level filtering allows you to begin at the Department level and narrow your search down to the specific parameter level you want to set the default value for. When you insert an object and configure the source, you'll notice that the location of the function you selected from the data sources tree is reflected in the filtering Description boxes.

For some functions, you can set either the default parameter value on the Product or on the Group/Property/Characteristic, but not on both. When this is the case you are first prompted to select the type of product search. The filtering for either Product, or Group/Property/Characteristic/Specification functions the way as Dept./Line/Unit/Variable Group/Variable. You first set the filter on the top level (e.g. the Product Group), and the following levels (Property, Characteristic, Specification) are filtered accordingly. Drill down the hierarchy, and enter filters until you arrive at the required default value for the parameter.
