The time criteria defines the time frame for retrieved data used by objects within a display. When the time criteria is set to a relative time, (such as three hours before now), changing the time criteria can allow you to view data from different times quickly and easily. All time-based objects in your display can be modified with display-level time controls, providing they are configured to allow display-level changes.
The run-time toolbar and display-level context menu allow you to modify the time criteria in the run-time environment. The following options are available:
Auto Update – see Auto Update in Run-time
Scrolling – see Display Scrolling in Run-time
Quick Time – the Quick Time control on the run-time toolbar allows you to change the time or time range.
Using the Quick Time control on the run-time toolbar is the same as using a Quick Time control on a chart or grid. See Using Quick Time/Time Component for more information.
The Quick Time control time criteria can be changed during run-time. See To configure the time criteria from the run-time environment for more information.
Set to Current and Reset to Original options are available from the context menu and on the run-time toolbar.
When you need to set the time to the
current local time, click the following button on the run-time
toolbar, or right-click a blank area in your display and select
Time Criteria | Set to Current.
When you have altered the time and need to reset it to the original time, click the following button on the run-time toolbar, or right-click a blank area in your display and select Time Criteria | Reset to Original.
NOTE: If this command is unavailable, application defaults are restricting you from modifying the time criteria.
