Controls    

Controls are objects that allow you to interact with a display during run-time. A typical example of a commonly used control object is a search field on a web page. In the search field, you enter a word or string of words in the text box. When you click the search button, the words are sent to the web server to be processed, and a list of items is returned to you from the server.

Proficy Portal controls work in much the same way. For example, a list box can be used to retrieve information if it is linked to a data source. When the list box is linked to other objects, such as a grid, the object will automatically update based on the item selected in the list box. In the case of a grid, it would display rows that correspond with the list item selected.
