Time Component Properties | Configuring a Time Component
The time component allows you to display a time and date in your analysis displays that can be used to connect to other time-based objects. For example, you can connect the Time Component object to an Event chart so that when the user changes the time on the Time Component, the chart is updated automatically.
You can configure the Time Component object with one of the following options:
Absolute time – defines a fixed date and time, for example, October 31, 2003 at 4:33 PM.
Relative time – defines a time relative to the current local time. By default, the relative time is set to the current local time minus one hour (i.e. 1 Hour Ago).
Time range – defines a specific range (e.g. Night Shift). Time ranges are defined in the Named Time Editor. Refer to Named Times for more information.
You also have the option to:
Display a start time only or a start and end time (available with Absolute and Relative time options only).
Display time in a combo box or in a list box (available with Relative and Range options only).
You can connect a Time Component to another object with the Link Property To command. For more information about connecting objects, refer to Parameters and Properties.
