To create and configure a WebSource, from the Application menu, choose Create WebSource.

If you are making changes to an existing WebSource, from the Application menu, choose Edit WebSource. Select the WebSource to make changes to and select the Open button.
NOTE: If you choose a WebSource that has been imported, you may be prompted to choose the Editor you want to use (that is, the source application of the imported WebSource or Proficy Portal's WebSource Editor. Use the following procedure only if you are using the WebSource Editor to make changes to your WebSources.
The WebSource Editor dialog box appears.
In the Base URL box, enter the web address.
If the web address already contains parameters, click the Evaluate button. This will separate parameters from the URL and move them into the table below. Each parameter will appear on its own line in the table.
If you want to add a parameter to the WebSource, click the Add button . Make changes to the parameter options as required:
NOTE: You will need to contact the administrator of the website to find out what the available parameters and their valid values are.
In the Parameter Name box, enter the name. This is the name that the web service is expecting the parameter to be called.
In the Visible Name box, enter the name that will appear when linking the parameter.
In the Description box, enter a description of the parameter.
In the Default Value box, enter the value of the parameter that will be passed in when the WebSource is loaded.
To make the parameter linkable; that is, to other objects in a display, select the True check box.
To set up a variable for the parameter, click the Variable ellipses button. The Select a Variable dialog box appears. Select a system or display variable and click OK.
If you want to delete a parameter, select the parameter row in the table and click the Delete button.
If you want to change the order of the parameters, select the parameter to be moved and click the Up or Down arrow buttons.
NOTE: Changes can be made to WebSources within the Web Control and Hyperlink configuration dialog boxes; however, the changes are limited. You can change whether the parameter is linkable, the default value of the parameter, and the variable only.
