Using the Keyboard

You can use the following keystrokes as shortcuts when working with the Client application:

Delete

Delete the selected analysis display from the system tree in the run-time environment. From the configuration environment, the Delete key lets you remove the selected object.

Ctrl + M

Toggle between the run-time and configuration environments. When security is enabled, you must have security privileges to access the configuration environment.

To learn more about security, refer to the Getting Started with Proficy Portal manual. This guide is available from the program group of the Proficy Portal server. If you do not have access to this program group, consult your system administrator.

Ctrl + G

Log off Proficy Portal.

Esc

Close a dialog box.

Ctrl + T

Show and hide the system tree.

Ctrl + N

Create a new analysis display from the configuration environment.

Ctrl + O

Open an existing analysis display.

Ctrl + S

Save an analysis display.

Ctrl + A

Select all objects in an analysis display.

Ctrl + Z

Undo your last action.

Ctrl + Y

Redo your last action.

Ctrl + X

Cut the selected object from the analysis display to the computer's clipboard.

Ctrl + C

Copy the selected object from the analysis display to the computer's clipboard.

Ctrl + V

Paste the object on the clipboard to the open analysis display.

Ctrl + D

Duplicates the selected object.

      

You can also move a time chart's cursor with the following shortcuts when it is not selected:

Ctrl + Left Arrow

Moves the cursor ten pixels left.

Ctrl + Right Arrow

Moves the cursor ten pixels right.

Ctrl + Shift + Left Arrow

Moves the cursor one pixel left.

Ctrl + Shift + Right Arrow

Moves the cursor one pixel right.

You can traverse a grid using the following keystrokes:

Select the cell in the previous row and the same column.

Down arrow

Select the cell in the next row and the same column.

Left arrow

Select the cell in the same row and the previous column.

Right arrow

Select the cell in the same row and the next column.

Home

Select the cell in the first column of the current row.

Select the cell in the last column of the current row.

Page Up

Move up through the grid one page at a time.

Page Down

Move down through the grid one page at a time.

Tab

Move horizontally from one cell to the next.

Enter

Move vertically from one cell to the next.

Shift+Up arrow or Shift+Down arrow

Select multiple rows. To select multiple rows with the mouse, select a cell, hold the Shift key and click and drag the mouse.

NOTE: To use these keys, you must give the grid focus by clicking it with the mouse.

Navigating a tree with the keyboard is similar to navigating the system tree:

Select the previous item in the tree.

Down arrow

Select the next item in the tree.

Left arrow

Select the parent item in the tree. If the item is an open folder, the left arrow closed the folder.

Right arrow

Select the next item in the tree. If the item is a closed folder, the right arrow opens the folder.

Home

Select the first item in the tree.

End

Select the last item in the tree.

Page Up

Move up through the tree one page at a time.

Page Down

Move down through the tree one page at a time.

Ctrl + Click

Select multiple non-sequential selections.

Shift + Click

Select multiple sequential selections.
