Time Updates on Data Sources

Advanced Settings Properties | To set data source time update options | Quick View of Time Update Settings

Data sources for time-based components (e.g., Time chart, Historian grid) can have the following types of time updates (refer to each section for detailed information):

There are a number of time update configuration options for data sources. The options are available on the Advanced Options dialog box. This dialog box can be accessed via the `wrench' button on the object's configuration panel (usually on the Data tab) or on the Data Sources tab of the Expression Builder. When you click the button, the Advanced Settings dialog box appears (as shown in the following screen capture).

NOTE: If you are using an historical data source, the 'wrench' button will display the Advanced Data Settings dialog box. See To set data source time update options for more information.

This dialog box allows you to configure specific time update options for each data source. For example, if you have a Time chart with two pens, you can have one pen remain static, while the other pen is configured to accept time changes from auto update, scrolling, and/or Quick Time.

Time update options can be set for data source types of Historical and Relational only.
