To set data source time update options

NOTE: Time update options are available for Historical and Relational data sources only.

Before starting, you must insert an object into a display and set at least one data source. Refer to To add objects to a display and To set a data source for an object if required.

1. While in Configure mode, access the object's configuration panel.

2. Click the Data tab.

3. NOTE: Some objects, such as the Datalink and shapes, do not have a Data tab. You will find the Advanced Settings button wherever you enter your data source.

If your data source is set as an expression, access the Data Sources tab on the Expression Builder.

3. Click the Advanced Settings button . The Advanced Settings window appears.

4. At the top of the window you will see a list of the data sources. You must set the options for each data source by first selecting it and then making changes to the settings below.

5. NOTE: You can select multiple data sources.

6. Select the Auto Update options required:

7. • Select Allow Display Updates if you want the data source to accept automatic updates at the display level.

   • Select Allow Component Updates if you want the data source to accept automatic updates at the component (object) level.

   NOTE: If the data source you are configuring is Relational, the Auto Update options only are available for configuration (steps 7 and 8 do not apply).

8. Select the Quick Time options required:

9. • Select Allow Display Quick Time if you want the data source to accept time changes made by a Quick Time control on the run-time toolbar.

   • Select Allow Component Quick Time if you want the data source to accept time changes made by a Quick Time control on the component (object).

10. Select the Scrolling options required:

11. • Select Allow Display Scrolling if you want the data source to accept time changes made by scroll buttons on the run-time toolbar.

    • Select Allow Component Scrolling if you want the data source to accept time changes made by scroll buttons on the component (object).

12. Select another data source and repeat steps 6 to 8 until you have made all the necessary changes.
