If you are using the drag-and-drop method of adding objects, this procedure does not apply. When you add an object from the Insert menu or from the Toolbox, you must set the data source in the configuration dialog box for that object.
If you have not already done so, add the object. How?
Locate the Configure Data Source button
or Add button 
for the object (the button may be
different depending on the type of object). For most objects, you
can find the Data Source button on the Data tab, while for some
objects, it can be found on the General tab.
Click the Data Source button.
The Data Source Browser appears. Refer to The Data Source Browser for more information.
