To configure an iHistorian data source

NOTE: Default settings can be configured for each Historian data source. For more information, see Adding an iHistorian Data Source.

  1. You can access the iHistorian data source Edit Source dialog box in the following ways:

    • When an object is inserted from the Insert menu (in the configuration environment). In the Configuration panel, access the Data tab and set the data source via the Data Source Browser. Refer to The Data Source Browser for more information.

    NOTE: The iHistorian data source is located under the Historical node of the Data Sources tree.

    • When an object is inserted with the drag-and-drop method (Natural Presentation), either in the configuration or run-time environments. Refer to Dragging and Dropping Data Sources (Natural Presentation) for more information.

    • When an object is modified from the Configuration panel (Data tab). Double-click the data source to open the Edit Source dialog box.

  2. On the General tab, select a retrieval mode from the Retrieve Mode drop-down list.

  3. Set the time zone. How?

  4. Specify the time criteria. How?

  5. Select the type of Sampling (Interval or Number of Samples).

    • If you selected Interval, specify the data point interval (the time property that controls data sampling). Enter amounts of time in the Hours, Minutes, Seconds, and/or Millisecs boxes.

Or,

  1. Select the Advanced Items tab and add fields as required. To add all fields, click the Add All button. To add one field, select the field name in the Available Fields list and click the Add button.

  2. Click OK (or Finish).
