Properties on the Histogram Chart Tab 

Property

Description

Values

Category

Indicates whether to display the data category in Tool Tips.

Selected – category is shown in Tool Tips.

Cleared – category is not shown in Tool Tips.

Frequency

Indicates whether to display the frequency value in Tool Tips.

Selected – the frequency value is shown in Tool Tips.

Cleared – the frequency value is not shown in Tool Tips.

Enable

Indicates whether to display Tool Tips when the cursor moves over data points on the chart.

Selected – Tool Tips are shown when the cursor moves over data points.

Cleared – Tool Tips are not shown when the cursor moves over data points.

Use Series
Color

Indicates whether to use the color that is set for the series (data column) as the color for the associated Tool Tip. The series color is set on the Data tab.

Selected – the background color of Tool Tips matches the color of the associated series (data column).

Cleared – the background color of all Tool Tips is the default color.

Decimal
Places

Specifies the number of decimal places to display on the Tool Tips for category and frequency values.

Indicates that the specification limits (lower specification limit line and upper specification line) will not appear on the chart.

Indicates that the upper specification limit (USL), lower specification limit (LSL), and target values are the values that you enter (Constant option) or are retrieved from a data source (Data Source option).

If you select the Constant option, enter the values for USL, LSL, and Target.

If you select the Data Source option, click the Configure Data Source button and select sources for the 3 values.

Upper Specification Limit – the upper limit that a system or process must operate within.

Lower Specification Limit – the lower limit that a system or process must operate within.

Target – the exact value at which the system or process should optimally operate.

Indicates that mean and standard deviation values for the normal curve (the bell-shaped curve that indicates normal distribution) are calculated from the data source (as set on the Data tab).

Specified

Indicates that you can either set specific values for mean and standard deviation or specify the data source the values can be retrieved from. The values make up the specifications for the normal curve (the bell-shaped curve that indicates normal distribution).

Constant – Allows you to enter specific values for Mean and Std Dev.

Data Source – Allows you to specify a data source for the Mean and Std Dev values.

Normal Curve
Properties:
Display 3 Sigma
and Mean Lines

Indicates whether 3 Sigma and Mean lines are shown on the chart.

Selected – +3S, Mean, and -3S lines appear on the chart.

Cleared – 3 Sigma and Mean lines do not appear on the chart.

Use the Frequency Axis tab to configure the Frequency y-axis for the Histogram chart. The configuration options are the same as the Data Axis tab configuration options for most other SPC charts. Refer to the following for configuration option details:
